Brazil’s Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca combined to capture 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Rome and won six gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals in the 13 women’s world tour events they competed in during the 2011 campaign.

Gulf Shores Gets First Rebranded NCAA "Sand Volleyball" Tournament: The NCAA has rebranded and added Sand Volleyball (formerly Beach Volleyball) for high school and collegiate competition. Gulf Shores, Alabama will host the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball Championships on April 27-29, the first time it will be played at the college level under the new title. CBS Sports will film the three-day competition.
